
NASHVILLE, TN, Oct. 31, 2008 — Titans head coach Jeff Fisher is the Motorola NFL Coach of the Week for games played on October 26-27, the NFL announced today.Jeff led the undefeated Tennessee Titans to beat the Indianapolis Colts 31–21 on Monday Night Football. After being down by one going into halftime, Fisher’s Titans matched a Colts touchdown in the third quarter and then tied the game by successfully completing a two-point conversion.
Titans QB Kerry Collins directed an offense that scored in each quarter, including putting up 17 points in the fourth quarter. Rookie RB Chris Johnson rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown and RB LenDale White added two touchdowns. Tennessee's defense put constant pressure on Colts QB Peyton Manning and Titans safety Chris Hope intercepted Manning twice. The win put the Titans up four games in the AFC South with a 7 – 0 record.
Fisher was selected as Motorola NFL Coach of the Week from among three finalists by voters on NFL.com. The other finalists were head coaches Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints and Tony Sparano of the Miami Dolphins.
Congrats to Coach Fisher on the award, well deserved with the start that the team has had this season.
